Kali is the goddess of time, doomsday and death. She is "the black goddess" and is shown throughout history as either black or blue.
This piece, in its complexity of line and color, pushes the use of this primitive "print medium," which involves using manila folder stencils and spray painted color. This technique allows for accidents, oversprays and drips, emblems of homemade "backyard" printing. There are 12 different stencils for the 12 colors, and there is no direct painting on the piece.
