"Childhood Totem" was designed and built to the specifications of the Port of San Diego's Urban Trees project. Each of three cylinders, referencing faces front and back, are part kachina doll, part Mr. Potato Head. They fit on the thread of a central steel beam which was imbedded in a square concrete planter. Installation by the City of San Diego took less than an hour.
"Childhood Totem" is now part of the permanent collection of the Literacy garden of the San Diego Unified School District.
